Kadri Tomson - The Human Library works exactly as a normal library – readers come and borrow a “Book” for a limited period of time. After reading it they return the Book to the library. There is one difference: the Books in the library are human beings, and the Books and readers enter into a personal dialogue. I would like to share my experiences of running a successful Human library event, specifically for the young readers.

This session will also have time for an open forum for your ideas.

Jaye Shaer will introduce the Prague International School library and what they have done to create a maker space, then we will tour the International School of Prague libraries.
"We have created a makerspace in the library. It has been received very positively and is well used. We will discuss how it was set up and the decisions made with the difficulties, of not having enough staff just for that space, kids can be messy and loud. Our library is often too full"

On the buses at 4pm.
5:00 pm 1st tour of the Klementinum in Prague, followed by a social dinner in Prague. Sponsored by Follett. Ticket and buses are included in the conference fee.

Created by librarians in the Swiss international school community to promote great literature and cross cultural ties, the GCBA is now in its 4th year. Participants interested in creating their own regional/country awards might learn from our successes and occasional “steps in cow patties.”

Alana Lyell from Follett During this presentation, we will look at the Destiny Library management system and Resource Manager in general and cover the latest upgrades and enhancements. Together, we will discover the ease of using Titlewave for all of your curricular needs (IB, US, IGCSE,) and discuss the extensive list of resources and services Follett offers. With recent advances in Titlewave, we will explore new features such as series building, title match, and new reporting in our Titlewise analyses. We will also look at digital experiences and how to motivate teachers and students with exciting, interactive resources.

John Royce Many online tools and services are available to help students in their writing assignments. In this session, we look especially at (1) those which help students with their citation and referencing and (2) those which help students and teachers check for possible citation issues (plagiarism?). We'll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of such services in general terms and look too at specific services and tools. Be prepared to champion your own favourite/s!
